Gujarat is experiencing a welcome break from the heat as pre-monsoon activity brings light rain to parts of the state. Over the past 24 hours, isolated areas in the southern region of Gujarat, particularly the Valsad district, have seen some rainfall. Furthermore, the forecast predicts light rain in various parts of the state over the next week.
According to the latest bulletin from the Indian Meteorological Department, isolated districts such as Dahod, Chhota Udepur, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad and Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli are very likely to experience light rain or thundershowers today.
The forecast for June 7th predicts similar weather conditions in the aforementioned districts of the Gujarat region. On June 8th, the forecast expands to include districts like Panchmahal, Dahod, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad and districts of Saurashtra like Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath and Diu.
From June 9th to 11th, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely at a few places in all the districts of South Gujarat region, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod and Mahisagar. Light rain or thundershowers are also expected at isolated places in the districts of Saurashtra.
On June 12th, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely at a few places in all the districts of Gujarat region, Saurashtra-Kutch and in Diu, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli. This pre-monsoon activity is a much-needed respite for the state, bringing down temperatures and setting the stage for the upcoming monsoon season.
