India on Monday allowed fully vaccinated foreign tourists travelling to India from 99 countries including the UK, US, UAE, France and Germany to roam around the country without any quarantine before.
However, the airfares of international flights have increased due to limited flights since the pandemic for flying outside India and flying to India. If you wish to travel to the US, the return economy class ticket could be priced from Rs 1.2 – 1.5 lakh. Whereas, a return ticket to the UK starts from Rs 80,000.
On certain popular travel days, a one-way ticket can cost more than the entire round-trip ticket from the pre-pandemic period. The government does plan to increase the number of flights depending on the demands. Till the number of flights increase, people will have to pay a huge amount for fares.
Buyers, the discretionary and travel community have said the public authority to permit more global trips to permit airfares to get back to saner levels. Indian students cannot afford such high fares to see their families.
