Authorities are investigating a possible hack of the visa system at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, after multiple incidents involving People of Indian Origin (PIOs) arriving with valid visas that were missing from the immigration system.
According to sources, at least four to five PIOs from Canada have landed at the Ahmedabad airport with valid visa stickers on their passports, only to be denied entry because their visas were not registered in the system. This has raised concerns about a potential breach of national security.
Central intelligence agencies have been alerted to the issue, and suspect that this might be an attempt to infiltrate pro-Khalistan supporters into India. Airports in Ahmedabad, Delhi, and Mumbai have been notified and instructed to remain vigilant.
On December 5th, a Canadian couple arrived at the Ahmedabad airport with multiple valid visa stickers on their passports. Upon verification, both the passports and visas were found to be genuine. However, the immigration system showed no record of their visas, prompting authorities to deny their entry. The couple was asked to obtain a positive report from the Canadian embassy before attempting to re-enter India.
Sources have revealed that similar incidents have occurred with other PIOs from Canada, leading to them being deported back to their origin country.
