Injured Child Brings Moves IAS Officer, Lucknow DC In Tears

Lucknow Divisional Commissioner IAS Roshan Jacob couldn’t hold her tears back during her visit to a hospital in Lakhimpur.

The IAS officer  had come to meet the injured in a bus-truck collision in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur district after a terrible accident between a private bus and a mini-truck in Lakhimpur Kheri on September 28, 2022 which claimed at least ten lives and injured many.

While speaking to family members of the patients injured in the accident, a woman complained that the her son was not receiving proper treatment at the government-run hospital.

While crying, Asma, the mother of the injured Kafeel, informed the  Commissioner about the lack of proper treatment in the district hospital for three days. Seeing this, the IAS officer also could not hold back her tears and started crying.

On September 26, an earthen wall collapsed upon the children playing outside the house of Bajpai village in the Sadar Kotwali area. In this accident, five kids were buried, two of them died on the spot, and one passed away in the hospital while receiving treatment. The remaining two children are undergoing treatment.

Lucknow Divisional Commissioner Roshan Jacob reached his bed to inquire about injured Kafeel. Lucknow divisional commissioner Roshan Jacob put her hand on the child’s back and told him that he would get well soon.

The divisional commissioner of Lucknow, Roshan Jacob, gave orders to the district’s ADM, CDO, CMO, and DM to immediately arrange for the child’s treatment in a government or non-government hospital in Lucknow with the government’s support. She further assured that the child’s family members would receive support from the Red Cross Society and would not have to incur the expenses.

It is said that Kafeel suffered to a great extent in his spinal cord due to collapsing of the earthen wall, which is not treatable in Lakhimpur.
