Intruder Became Aggressive but Avoided Stealing Jewellery, Kareena Tells Police

| Updated: January 18, 2025 12:45

Kareena Kapoor Khan, wife of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, has informed the police that an intruder who entered their Mumbai home became aggressive during a scuffle but refrained from taking any jewellery, despite it being in plain view, an official stated on Saturday.

The police recorded the actress’s statement following the attack at the couple’s Bandra apartment.

According to the official, the incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday when the intruder entered the 12th-floor apartment in the Satguru Sharan building and attacked Saif Ali Khan.

Saif, 54, was attacked with multiple stab wounds, including to his neck, and was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital. He underwent emergency surgery to treat his injuries.

In her statement, Kareena Kapoor Khan described how the intruder became extremely aggressive during the altercation, stabbing Saif several times. However, despite the jewellery being left out in the open, the attacker did not attempt to steal it.

The official added that the police have not yet recorded Saif Ali Khan’s statement. Following the attack, Kareena’s sister, actress Karisma Kapoor, took her to her residence in Khar for safety and support.

More than 30 police teams have been formed to trace the whereabouts of the attacker, who remains at large more than 48 hours after the incident.
