During a recent interview with PEOPLE, Kal Penn – an actor and the most eligible Indian-American actor revealed his engagement with his partner Josh after 11 years of relationship.
“I discovered my own sexuality relatively late in life compared to many other people. There’s no timeline on this stuff. People figure their s— out at different times in their lives, so I’m glad I did when I did.” Penn shared with PEOPLE.
Penn boasts a great career, and to add to the list of accomplishments, he is releasing his own book “You Can’t Be Serious”. Along with talking about his sexuality and engagement, the memoir has stories about what it was like growing up as the son of an immigrant, his grandparents who marched with Gandhi in the Independence movement, fighting for diversity and inclusion in the entertainment industry, and how it was to work at the white house under the Obama administration.
Penn, via PEOPLE, mentioned that, “I wanted my story to be authentic from my perspective and told in a way that makes you feel like you really get to know me.”
In the same interview, he said that he is grateful to have had full support of his family and friends in all endeavors, but especially with regard to his relationship with Josh. “I felt very supported by everyone. That’s a wonderful thing. I know everybody has different experiences with that and so I definitely feel very fortunate,” he added.
