The national president of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) Chirag Paswan on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 in a big shout out said that he is looking to contest all 182 seats in Gujarat in the upcoming assembly elections due to be held in December this year.

The Jamui MP arrived at the Vadodara airport en route to Surat to meet his party workers in the state to condense and intensify his strategies for the upcoming elections.

While speaking to the media, Paswan said, “My aim is to strengthen my party in all the states. I am here to decide the plan ahead for the Assembly polls. I will be holding a meeting for strategies as we are looking at fielding candidates from all seats of Gujarat.”

He also stressed on carrying forward the ideals of his late father, Ram Vilas Paswan, who was an ‘advocate of Dalit rights’.

Paswan is a third semester college dropout in Computer Engineering. After his dropout, he starred opposite Kangana Ranaut in a Hindi movie ‘Miley Naa Miley Hum’ in the year 2011.

Subsequently, Paswan contested the 2014 general Lok Sabha elections from Jamui constituency. He won the seat by defeating his nearest rival Sudhansu Shekhar Bhaskar of Rashtriya Janata Dal by over 85,000 votes.

In the 2019 elections, Paswan secured his seat by scoring a total of 528,771 votes defeating RJD leader Bhudeo Choudhary for Dhoraiya seat in Bihar.

Gujarat’s Legislative Assembly elections are due to be held in December 2022 to elect 182 members of the state. The schedule will be released by the Election Commission of India before the election.
