A love story ended in murder in South Goa, where the police have arrested 22-year-old Sanjay Kevin M for the alleged killing of his girlfriend, Roshni Moses M.
The couple from North Bengaluru recently travelled to Goa to marry.
Roshni, reportedly the same age as Sanjay, was found dead in a forested area of Pratap Nagar, South Goa.
But due to some unknown reason, a dispute arose and Sanjay allegedly killed Roshni and threw the body in the forest, the police said.
According to reports, police confirmed that her throat had been slit, revealing the brutal nature of the crime.
After the gruesome act, Sanjay fled back to Bengaluru. However, police quickly acted on leads and managed to trace and arrest him within 24 hours of discovering Roshni’s body. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to uncover further details.
The latest episode adds to the litany of crime cases, which also involves the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, a 29-year-old businessman from Indore, who travelled to Meghalaya with wife Sonam for their honeymoon.
The couple went missing in Sohra, and Raja’s decomposed body was found in a gorge near Weisawdong Falls on June 2. Sonam Raghuvanshi was later apprehended near a roadside dhaba on the Varanasi-Ghazipur highway.
The Meghalaya government, according to latest reports, banned renting out private vehicles – both two-wheelers and four-wheelers – for commercial use to ensure tourist safety.
Days after the Meghalaya incident, another chilling episode emerged from Maharashtra. A woman, Radhika Lokhande, killed her husband Anil Lokhande with an axe while he was sleeping, merely three weeks after their marriage.
The couple had tied the knot on May 23 in Sangli district. On the night of June 10, following a heated argument, Radhika attacked Anil, who died instantly.
These harrowing cases reveal a disturbing pattern of domestic and relationship-related violence gripping parts of the country, underscoring urgent concerns for safety, justice, and social awareness.
