Main Accused In Head Clerk Exam Paper Leak Arrested

| Updated: June 12, 2022 12:45

Prantij Police in Sabarkantha district yesterday arrested the alleged mastermind behind the leak of  Head Clerk recruitment exam paper, Tushar Mer. The examination was conducted by Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB)in December 2021. Apparently, these papers were sold to specific candidates for Rs10-15 lakhs. Prior to Mer, more than 35 people had been accused of being involved in the scam of selling the paper.

Last week, activist and  student leader Yuvrajsinh Jadeja leveled serious allegations against the Secondary Service Board. He also said that those who passed the examination by cheating in this manner in the past years, were still employed in courts. He then went on to name Tushar Mer as the main person to have planned the leak and sale of the exam papers in the Prantij. Furthermore, he accused Mer of taking the candidates to a farmhouse in the taluka, where the question papers were solved for them already.

The police arrested Mer from the Sonpari village in Prantij taluka. They said that the investigations were still going on. They had approached the court seeking 14-day remand for Mer and had gotten permission for 6-day remand.

In December 2021, more than 88,000 examinees sat for the single exam that would pave way to 186 posts. However, with the paper leak coming to light, the candidates attempts will not be taken into consideration. According to the sources, several main accused are still absconding.
