In Vadodara, a man was allegedly hacked to death with an axe by his partner for allegedly forcing him to have sex. However, the incident occurred on January 8, and the matter came to light after the victim went missing. After allegedly killing him, the elderly man dug a one-and-half-foot-deep pit in his field nearby and buried the body.
The body of the 34-year-old deceased victim was finally exhumed from a field in Panchmahals by Halol police on Monday. According to police, the accused was arrested on Sunday night. According to media reports, the accused claimed that the victim forced him to have physical relations with him.
Police said on Monday, “The accused was upset with the victim. He had previously approached the victim’s family members and told them that the victim was threatening and blackmailing him. But, no one took any action.”
The accused called the victim to a location and committed the alleged crime. The victim was missing since then and a complaint was filed by his family in this regard. Police said that the accused had possession of the victim’s phone and he evaded arrest by cleverly switching it off and on from different locations in Panchmahals.
However, the accused allegedly confused police while investigating the case and made them believe that the victim was alive. However, the accused was caught when he accidentally dialled the victim’s phone from his number and his location was immediately traced by police.
