Manish Sisodia Challenges PM Modi Over Poorly Maintained Schools in Gujarat

| Updated: April 18, 2022 14:31

Even as PM Narendra Modi begins his 2-day visit to Gujarat today, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia has shared pictures of the government schools in the state. The pictures show the despicable condition of the schools, which lack proper facilities and maintenance.

These photos were posted in reply to PM Modi’s announcement that he would visit Vidya Samiksha Kendra, that is modern center that analyses and uses data and technology in order to improve learning outcomes. He had said that he would also be talking with the people from the state’s education sector.

Sisodia, who posted the pictures on Twitter, addressed PM Modi, saying that he would not be able to see the pitiful conditions of schools from Vidya Samiksha Kendra. He said in Hindi, “Dear Prime Minister! You may not see the picture of these schools from the Modern Centre of Vidya Samiksha Kendra, where there is no desk to sit, spider webs like those in abandoned  junkyards, toilets are broken… I myself have seen such schools in the area of education minister of Gujarat.”

PM Narendra Modi is set to attend programs and events in Gandhinagar, Banaskantha, Jamnagar and Dahod. While on Monday he will visit Command and Control Centre for Schools in Gandhinagar, on Tuesday he will review multiple development projects at Banas Dairy Sankul in Diyodar, Banaskantha. He will also lay the foundation of WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine in Jamnagar and also inaugurate the Global AYUSH Investment and Innovation Summit at Gandhinagar.
