Are you a Marvel fanatic who has binge-watched all Marvel movies in their correct order at least more than once? Then get ready for more of it with a surprising revelation that Insomniac Games’ PlayStation 5 event made on Sept 10 on developing Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and The Wolverine.
From creating movies that can make the audience emotionally engage with the Marvel Superheroes to launching new games that people equally feel connected to, Marvel has a fanbase of more than 60 percent of adults in the age bracket 18-44. The new announcement shouldn’t come as a surprise to you given the notable success of the 2018 game and last year’s spinoff Miles Morales.
The Wolverine is a standalone game and is being directed by Brian Horton and Cameron Christian. The blog stated that the game is still in its early development but one hint to its story compared it to Spider-Man, in which both the heroes feel deeply compelled to defend people who are less able to do so.
The reveal was made through a brief teaser where Wolverin was seen in a cowboy hat sitting at a bar as a large man advances on him from behind. Wolverine extends his claws and reveals his identity as a man gets closer to him.
While for the sequel of Spider-man 2, Peter Parker (Yuri Lowenthal) and Miles Morales (Nadji Jeter) will team up to defend New York once again, but as a dynamic duo.
Apart from the title, there is not much to go on about as there’s no word on gameplay or how combat will play out in the X-Man’s long life the game will be set. Spider-Man 2 is coming in 2023 but as for the Wolverine game, as we know it is still in the early development stages, there is no release date.
Along with trailers release by PlayStation on Youtube, the Insomniac Games also made the announcement via Twitter.
Needless to say, Marvel fans frenziedly await both the games!
