PM Modi Recalls Eid Memories in His Latest Blog

| Updated: June 19, 2022 07:48

PM Narendra Modi wrote an emotional blog as his mother approaches her 100th birthday. He recalled some special memories from his childhood with his mother. He recalled several sacrifices made by his mother as he grew up, as well as various characteristics of his mother that shaped his mind, personality, and self-confidence. One such special story he shared was with his friend Abbas.

Eid Memories:

PM Modi stated that his mother was exceedingly generous and found satisfaction in other people’s joys. “A close friend of my father used to stay in a neighbouring village,” he recounted. My father brought his friend’s son, Abbas, to our house after his unexpected death.

He completed his education while staying with us. Mother was just as warm and caring to Abbas as she was to the rest of us siblings. She used to make his favourite meals for Eid every year. It was typical for neighbourhood kids to visit to our house during festivals to enjoy Mother’s special preparations.”

A Life Lesson:

PM Modi remarked that his mother taught him that learning could be accomplished without a formal education. He related an instance in which he wished to publicly thank all of his teachers, including his mother, who was his most important teacher. His mother, on the other hand, declined, adding, “See, I am just an average person.” I may have given birth to you, but the Almighty has taught and raised you.”

PM Modi also stated that, even though his mother was unable to attend the occasion, she ensured that he was able to contact someone from Jethabhai Joshi Ji’s family — his local teacher who taught him the alphabets. “Her cognitive process and foresight have always astounded me,” he explained.

Simple Lifestyle:

Reflecting on his mother’s austere lifestyle, PM Modi wrote that there are no assets in his mother’s name even today. “I’ve never seen her wear gold ornaments, and she’s not interested.” “As previously stated, she continues to live an extremely simple lifestyle in her small room,” the PM stated.

Garib Kalyan:

PM Modi stated that his mother has always inspired him to be determined and focused on Garib Kalyan. He related an incident from 2001, when he was appointed Chief Minister of Gujarat. PM Modi went straight to his mother after arriving in Gujarat. “I don’t understand your work in the government, but I just want you to never take a bribe,” she exclaimed.

His mother keeps telling him not to worry about her and to concentrate on his larger responsibilities. When he calls his mother, she tells him, “Never do anything wrong or bad with anyone, and keep working for the poor.”

An Icon of Matrushakti:

“In my mother’s life story, I see the penance, sacrifice, and contribution of India’s matrushakti,” PM Modi continued. When I look at Mother and crores of other women like her, I see that nothing is out of reach for Indian women.”

In a few words, Prime Minister Modi encapsulated his mother’s inspiring life story.

“Far beyond every tale of deprivation, is the glorious story of a mother,

Far above every struggle, is the strong resolve of a mother.”

Hardwork:

PM Modi stated that his parents’ greatest qualities were honesty and self-respect. Despite struggling with poverty and its attendant challenges, PM Modi stated that his parents never compromised their honesty or self-respect. Their main mantra for overcoming any challenge was constant hard work!
