Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot of Rajasthan is set to embark on an aerial tour of the regions affected by Cyclone Biparjoy and meet the cyclone-affected communities on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Chief Minister’s itinerary includes visits to Barmer, Jalore, and Sirohi, which have witnessed severe rainfall due to the impact of Cyclone Biparjoy. According to officials from the Relief and Civil Defense Department in Disaster Management, these areas experienced heavy rainfall in the past three days. Barmer recorded 192.37 mm, Jalore 419.10 mm, Pali 318.70 mm, Sirohi 464.66 mm, and Rajsamand 251.92 mm. A red alert has been issued for the districts of Bundi and Sawai Madhopur.

On Tuesday, Chief Minister Gehlot is expected to arrive at Chauhtan village in Barmer, Sanchore in Jalore, and Abu Road in Sirohi to meet with the affected people. He will be accompanied by relevant ministers and officials responsible for the affected areas.

The following day, Wednesday, Chief Minister Gehlot will conduct an aerial survey to assess the progress of relief efforts in Pali and Jodhpur districts.

Officials from the Disaster Management and Relief Department have reported that approximately 15,000 individuals from the affected districts were safely relocated prior to the onset of heavy rains. Furthermore, the combined efforts of the National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF), State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF), Indian Army, Police, and Civil Defense volunteers have led to the safe rescue of 1,595 individuals in cyclone-affected areas.

Among the rescue operations, the NDRF successfully rescued 133 people from critical areas, while the SDRF and Indian Army rescued 123 and nine individuals, respectively.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s aerial tour and on-ground interactions aim to assess the extent of the damage caused by Cyclone Biparjoy and ensure that relief efforts are promptly provided to those affected. The government remains committed to the well-being and rehabilitation of the affected communities in Rajasthan.
