Rajasthan: PM Unveils Development Projects Worth Rs 5,500 Cr

| Updated: May 10, 2023 17:36

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 10 said that some people are so full of negativity that they don’t want to see anything positive happen in the country and only like to stir up controversy. This was purportedly a subtle attack on opposition parties.

At a programme in Nathdwara in Rajasthan’s Rajsamand district, where he unveiled development projects worth more than Rs 5,500 crore, the prime minister added that those who measure everything with votes are unable to devise plans keeping the country in mind.

“Because of this thinking, priority was not given to infrastructure development in the country,” he said without naming anyone.

Along with other State leaders, the function also included Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Significantly, Gehlot had previously signalled Modi to a number of unfinished projects, including the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project, the Karauli-Sarmathura rail line, and the Dungarpur-Ratlam via the Banswara rail line.

Additionally, Gehlot stated that the Prime Minister Modi “will also move in this direction” and that the Opposition “should be respected in a democracy.” “If this is done, the ruling dispensation and the opposition will be able to serve the country with more vigour,” he said.

Speaking about the programme after launching numerous infrastructure development projects in the State, Modi said: “Some people in the country have become victims of such a distorted ideology; they are so full of negativity that they do not want to see anything good happen in the country. They only like to create controversy.”

He asserted that those who are negative, lack both the vision and capacity to think beyond their self-serving political agenda. Based on history, developing a modern infrastructure alongside a fundamental system is necessary for rapid and sustainable development, the prime minister said.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered prayers at the Shrinathji temple in Nathdwara town. Additionally, the Prime Minister spent some time in the temple. In order to shower flowers on the Prime Minister’s cavalcade as it travelled to the temple, people formed lines on both sides of the road.

The Prime Minister will also be visiting the Shantivan complex of Brahma Kumaris, a religious organisation. The PMO noted that the Prime Minister has placed a special emphasis on fostering spiritual rejuvenation across the nation.

He will also dedicate a nursing college expansion, the second phase of Shivmani Old Age Home, and a super speciality charitable global hospital.
