Rajkot Man Travels Pan-India On 13-Yr-Old Bike In 140 Days

| Updated: February 6, 2023 11:19

In India, taking a solo holiday might not be a very common concept. A Rajkot resident recently completed the “Bharat Darshan” on a 13-year-old 125cc motorcycle. He travelled to 20 states in 140 days. He has just returned from a 73-day journey through eight states earlier in 2020.

Fakhruddin Trivedi, (34), a graphic designer by profession and an avid photographer by passion, left Rajkot on September 8 of 2022 and travelled 23,000 kilometres before returning on January 25.

Trivedi visited 190 locations in India’s northern, northeastern, southern, and central states. He did photography during his tour, enjoyed different cuisines and interacted with local people. “I enjoy travelling solo and riding my motorcycle. In solo travel, you are not with family or friends but you are with yourself,” he says.

Trivedi encountered numerous difficulties while travelling, including a bitterly harsh winter. “I encountered a language hurdle in the northern states. People there had different eating habits, and I had trouble locating lodging in some rural regions,” he claims, adding that he also had trouble adjusting to the local sunlight (5 am) and sunset (4:30 pm).

Trivedi spent his journey both as a guest in people’s homes and in hotels. For 15 days, he carried clothes that he only washed once. His camera bag, clothing bags, and bike were all well arranged.

Trivedi travelled to isolated regions to learn about the various cultures of the various states. He took photographs of everything, including human life in many cultures, while visiting historical locations, landmarks, pilgrimage sites, natural landscapes, towns, villages, forests, waterfalls, mountains, and beaches.
