Raksha Mantri Releases Anthology Of Home Minister’s Speeches

| Updated: August 11, 2022 19:29

Hailing Amit Shah a “backstage hero,” Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh, Wednesday, released Shabdansh in the capital. The book is a collection of the Home Minister’s landmark speeches on a range of issues – from politics and spirituality to nation-building and tough decisions. The title, edited by Shivanand Dwivedi and published by Rupa, will work as a “lighthouse” for the coming generations, Mr Singh stated.

“It will not be an exaggeration to call him nepathya ke nayak or backstage hero. He has no desire for credit. He is always in the background and that adds stability to our party,” stated the senior BJP leader about his colleague. Alluding to the bitter experiences in Shah’s life, he pointed out the several months jail stay as a fallout of the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case. Though later acquitted by the court of all charges, the blot remains on Shah’s track record, added the defence minister.

The Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) was in power when NaMo, then chief minister of Gujarat and Shah, were investigated by federal agencies. Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi’s questioning of summons by investigation agencies, Singh went on to narrate how the Home minister has always been prompt with appearances.

Mr Singh said there can be no happier experience for him than releasing the book of an anuj (younger brother) and urged people to read it, saying it is a significant collection of his speeches on a range of subjects. Amit Shah is younger to Rajnath Singh (71) by 14 years.

Mr Singh said Amit Shah’s speeches in Parliament on Article 370 and triple talaq were “wonderful” and Opposition members acknowledged the same, “though they may not admit it publicly.”

It is a document of changing India and is supported with appropriate contexts, he added. The book describes the journey of the country after Independence, its current aspirations and carries its dream for the future as well, he added. On a parting note, he shared that the book, it is hoped, will answer the readers’ questions on a host of issues, including policy-making and governance.
