Reliance Consumer Products Limited Partners with Elephant House to Expand Beverage Portfolio in India

Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), the FMCG subsidiary of Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL), announced today its partnership with Sri Lanka’s Elephant House. The collaboration aims to manufacture, market, distribute, and sell beverages under the Elephant House brand across India.

The partnership is expected to strengthen RCPL’s growing beverage portfolio, which includes iconic brands such as Campa, Sosyo, and Raskik. It will also introduce new products and value propositions to Indian consumers.

Elephant House, owned by Ceylon Cold Stores PLC, a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC, Sri Lanka’s largest listed conglomerate, produces a wide range of beverages. These include Necto, Cream Soda, EGB (Ginger Beer), Orange Barley, and Lemonade, among others.

Ketan Mody, COO of Reliance Consumer Products Limited, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership. He highlighted Elephant House’s strong market credibility and iconic status, stating that the partnership would add its popular beverages to RCPL’s growing FMCG portfolio. He also emphasized the value proposition and quality products that the partnership would offer to Indian consumers.

Krishan Balendra, Chairperson of the John Keells Group, announced the expansion of the Elephant House brand to the Indian market. He described the partnership with RCPL as a significant milestone in the journey of their heritage brand. He also expressed his commitment to delivering high-quality beverages to new consumer segments and his anticipation for the innovative beverage options this partnership would bring to meet the diverse preferences of Indian consumers.

The agreement between RCPL and Elephant House reflects a shared commitment to excellence and innovation. It empowers both organizations to capitalize on synergies and amplify their market presence.

RCPL’s vision is to offer Indian consumers a wide portfolio of globally recognized brands and products known for their exceptional quality and value. The company is rapidly scaling up its multi-channel operations to reach more consumers across diverse markets.

Currently, RCPL boasts a versatile FMCG portfolio. This includes iconic beverage brands like Campa and Sosyo Hajoori, an extensive confectionery range from Lotus Chocolates and Toffeeman, snacks such as Alan’s Bugles and Masti Oye, Sri Lanka’s leading biscuit brand Maliban, and staples & daily convenience products under the Independence brand. In home and personal care, it offers products such as dishwashing liquids, laundry detergent, soaps, and toilet cleaners.
