Sajid Nadiadwala Has Preserved Memories Of Divya Bharti

| Updated: April 6, 2022 15:40

In Bollywood, actress Divya Bharti’s sudden death at the age of only 19 still remains a bit of a mystery. Bharti died when she fell from the balcony of a Mumbai apartment on the fifth floor, on April 5, 1993— a year after she got married to producer Sajid Nadiadwala.

Almost three decades later, Nadiadwala still possesses the perfume and hair products of his late first wife, said Warda Khan, Nadiadwala’s present wife.

Nadiadwala and Khan were married in 2000 and have two sons together.

“Sajid still has her last touched Perfume, hair products, few more items ……. she was part for his debut film (Kick) Saat samundar…”, Khan tweeted recently.

In another, she wrote, “I think she (was) instrumental in getting us together… I met #SajidNadiadwala for an interview on their first anniv…… also Sajid, Divya’s dad, my in-laws they often tell me she was a lot like me, same nature same madness same behaviour…”

Bharti made her debut in the Telugu film Bobbili Raja (1990), opposite Venkatesh, and continued with Nila Pennae and Rowdy Alludu. She began her Bollywood journey with Vishwatma in 1992. In her short-lived career, she featured in a number of forgettable films, but was always noticed. These include Shola Aur Shabnam, Balwaan, Dil Ka Kya Kasoor, Dil Aashna Hai and Dushman Zamana. Rang and Shatranj, two of her films, were released after her unfortunate death in 1993.
