Security Drills At Ahmedabad Airport

A Three-day long basic training session on Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear materials (CBRN) was conducted from 18th Jan as part of handling the emergency at the Ahmedabad airport. The National Disaster Management Authority, Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority organised training at the airport for stakeholders and first responders in case of emergencies.

As an airport operator committed to passenger safety, this initiative is expected to improve airport emergency teams’ capacity to respond to CBRN emergencies. Organisations like NDMA, NDRF, CISF, State Police, State Disaster Management Authority also participated in the program. Veterans and experts conducted the mock-drill, quiz sessions and exercises.

Apart from imparting the knowledge and skill for handling CBRN emergencies, the training program also aimed at sharing necessary knowledge for providing first aid and initial psycho-social support to the victims. Around 50 personnel participated in the 3-day long training 50 NDRF commandos conducted the mock drill.
