The new variant of the Covid-19 pandemic is spreading quickly around the country. Seven new samples are found in Maharashtra found to be infected with Omicron.
The nationwide total number of cases has reached 12 with the newly found seven samples in the state.
The seven people whose samples were found to be of the Omicron variant were a 44-years-old Nigerian woman visiting Pimpri-Chinchwad near Pune, her two daughters and two nieces and a brother. A man in his late 40s who travelled to Finland last month was also positive with the new variant.
The first two cases of the new variant were found in Karnataka, the third was reported in Gujarat. The fourth and fifth were found in Maharashtra and Delhi.
