Sonu Nigam Voices Disappointment Over IIFA 2025 Nomination Snub

| Updated: March 12, 2025 19:01

Sonu Nigam has expressed disappointment after being excluded from the Best Playback Singer (Male) nominations at the IIFA Awards 2025.

The event, held in Jaipur, Rajasthan, did not feature Nigam among the nominees, despite his song “Mere Dholna 3.0” from the film “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3” being one of the chartbusters of 2024.

The nominees in the category included Arijit Singh, Karan Aujla, Diljit Dosanjh, Baadshah, Jubin Nautiyal, and Mitraz. Ultimately, Jubin Nautiyal took home the award.

Nigam took to Instagram to voice his discontent, sharing a screenshot of the nominee list accompanied by a sarcastic caption: “Thank you, IIFA… After all, you were answerable to the Rajasthan bureaucracy.”

In addition, Nigam played “Mere Dholna 3.0” in the background of his post, possibly implying that the song deserved at least a nomination.

Composer Amaal Malik responded to Nigam’s post, commenting, “Such is the world that we live in… Mazaak banake rakh diya hai (They have made it a joke).”
