The admission process for all undergraduate and postgraduate Medical and Paramedical courses has been completed in Ahmedabad, but there is still too much uncertainty regarding the fee structure for the same. Students who have taken admissions are still not clear on how much the course will cost them and are fearing unexpected and sudden decisions. There are hundreds of new colleges and colleges are asking students for fees, but students do not know how much to pay.
All this confusion is because the government’s Fee Regulation Committee has not revised the fee structure in last two years due to the Covid-19 crisis.
Furthermore, the Committee has not yet decided on fees of private colleges for courses including Nursing, Physiotherapy in Paramedical. The fees of 185 colleges in nursing and how much students have to pay is also not published on its website.
A new fee structure is decided every three years for medical, dental and paramedical colleges. Private colleges of various medical-paramedical courses were last given new fees in 2017. The new three-year fee structure for 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20 was to be followed by a new fee for three years in 2021-22. Fees had to be fixed last year, but a year later new fees for medical-paramedical colleges have yet to be fixed.
It is believed that the medical committee has not met for a long time and it is not yet decided when it will meet.
