In a rape case dating back to April 2022, the Surat Court handed down a death sentence to the accused. On July 26, the Court ordered the officials to implement the judgement as soon as possible. Within 120 days, the Additional Judicial and Sessions Court of Surat sentenced the accused to death.
On April 14, 2022, Ramprasad Lalansingh Maheshsingh, kidnapped a three-year-old girl from the Puna area of Surat. Later, her family lodged a missing complaint with the Surat Police. However, the cops could not find the missing girl even after a rigorous investigation. Surat locals were in rage when they came to know about the incident.
CCTV footage revealed that the girl went with a young man. After several days of the probe, the cops found her dead body and arrested the accused within the next few hours. The Court gave its final judgement on the case on July 26, 2022.
