Surat: Marijuana Plant Found At Civil Hospital Campus, Policemen Sets It On Fire

The Surat Civil Hospital is yet again into the controversy and this time for the plantation of the illegal Marijuana on the campus, which seems to be seven to eight months old and around five feet tall. This has raised several questions against the hospital management.

An aware citizen had pointed out the presence of a marijuana plant at the campus and had also reported it to the RMO of the hospital. Followed by the further search for more such illegal plants on the campus, there was no other such plant found on the hospital campus. Dr. Ketan Nayak, the RMO of Civil Hospital said that it is a very serious matter and should be further investigated.

The incident came to the light when the police commissioner, Ajay Tomar was at the hospital for a health check-up. According to the officials, the plant is believed to be have grown naturally primarily, although the matter will be further investigated.

The plant was uprooted and disposed of by setting it on fire in the campus itself by the policemen, who were accompanying the police commissioner at the hospital. Which has raised certain questions regarding the need for such an instant step by the police.
