But before the big day, the Ambani family has done something extraordinary: they’ve constructed 14 stunning temples in Jamnagar, Gujarat. Wedding Scheduled for July 12 in Mumbai, the wedding follows the Ambani family’s significant contribution to the temple construction.
Recently, Nita Ambani personally visited the temple complex, engaging with artisans and devotees involved in the project. The entire complex stands as a beautiful reminder of India’s rich cultural and spiritual identity.
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding event begins in Jamnagar with meal service called Anna Seva in villages near Reliance’s Jamnagar township. This is happening before the pre-wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. Around 51,000 local residents are expected to participate in the Anna Seva over the next few days.
During this event, members of the Ambani and Merchant families, including Mukesh Ambani, Anant Ambani, Radhika Merchant, and her parents Viren and Shaila Merchant, visited Jogawad village near Reliance Township. They served traditional Gujarati food to the people and received their blessings. Additionally, everyone present were invited to the Lok Dayro, where the renowned Gujarati singer Kirtidan Gadhvi entertained the audience with a mix of folk songs.
On Answering to the question – Why Jamnagar for all wedding festivities?
Anant Ambani replied -“Jamnagar holds a special place in my heart. It’s where I spent my childhood, and now, planning my pre-wedding celebrations here feels like a blessing. This is also the birthplace of my grandmother, Kokilaben Ambani. Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of celebrating weddings in India, we decided to honor our family legacy. My father often reminds me that Jamnagar was my late grandfather, Dhirubhai Ambani’s in-laws’ place. For me, it’s more than a location; it’s a sense of belonging.”
The guests of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding will receive Bandhani scarves made by women from Kachchh and Lalpur in Gujarat. Reliance Foundation posted a video on Instagram of Nita Ambani, its founder and chairperson, meeting the artisans and praising their work. The caption said that the women are keeping alive the ancient craft and stories of their land through Swadesh, a project that supports communities and craftsmanship.
The upcoming wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant will be attended by some important guests. Invitations have been sent to well-known people such as Qatar’s Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Bhutan’s Queen Jetsun Pema, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen, and Saudi Aramco chairperson Yasir Al Rumayyan. They’ll be joining the pre-wedding celebrations from March 1 to 3.
The guest list also includes former leaders like the ex-Prime Minister of Sweden Carl Bildt, former Prime Minister of Canada Stephen Harper, World Economic Forum chairperson Klaus Schwab, former President of Bolivia Jorge Quiroga, and former Prime Minister of Australia Kevin Rudd. Additionally, Bollywood stars and other celebrities such as Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Sachin Tendulkar, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and Ranveer Singh are expected to attend the festivities, adding to the excitement of the event.
