When Class X CBSE results were announced on Tuesday, there was a sweet coincidence for the Jani family in Ahmedabad. Neelgreev Jani of Maharaja Agrasen Vidyalaya topped in the school. Two years ago, his sister, Tejanshi, also had topped in Class X.
Devdutt Jani, father of the sibblings, told Vibes of India that they never forced their children to study well. They also did not force their children for extra-curricular activities.
“Neelgreev would watch television and also see cricket matches. Virat Kohil is his favourite player. He would also make good use of the internet,” said Jani, an inspector with the Income Tax department.
Jani’s wife is a homemaker and she helped the children in studies till Class 9. Thereafter, Neelgreev took tuitions for two subjects.
Neelgreev said that he never forced himself into strict routines and consistency was the key. He further said that he enjoyed what he studied and that made everything feel lighter and more meaningful.
He wants to become an Engineer, his father said. This young boy has played Under-14 interschool tournament.
About Tejanshi, Jani said she is in the first year of engineering and is also purusing a degree in Bharatnatyam.
“Our children had mostly topped in their respective classes. Perhaps Tejanshi topping in Class XII was an inspiration for Neelgreev,” Jani said.
