Why Was Aryan Khan’s Release From Jail Delayed?

| Updated: October 31, 2021 14:48

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan walked out of Mumbai’s Arthur Road jail nearly after a month at around 11 AM on Saturday, October 30, 2021. The 23-year-old was granted bail by the Bombay High Court in Mumbai cruise drug bust case on Thursday, October 28, 2021.

Despite bail, Aryan had to spend the night in jail as his legal team missed the time window narrowly to submit his bail papers before the deadline of 5:30 PM on Friday.

A senior advocate, Amit Desai informed that “Paperwork was delayed at Sessions Court and when the Release Memo was being typed the electricity of the entire Court was tripped for almost 25 to 35 vital minutes,” – states an ET report. This interruption led to the delay in posting Aryan Khan’s release order in the bail box kept outside Arthur Road Jail. Owing to this, Aryan’s legal team missed the deadline.

Aryan and other two accused –  Munmun Dhamecha and Arbaaz Merchant were granted bail by the High Court on 14 conditions. Some of the conditions in the bail order of Aryan include the submission of his passport before the special court. He will not be able to leave the country without prior permission of the Special Judge for NDPS at Greater Mumbai.

Another condition in the bail order specifies Aryan to appear before the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) at their office in Mumbai, every Friday. Along with this, he has been denied to give any sort of statements to any form of media including social media. He is also denied communication with the co-accused of the case.
