A female teacher with an unclear sexual identity since childhood working as a physical training instructor in a government secondary school in Nagla town of Bharatpur district fell in love with a kabaddi player girl student in 2018.
Both of them would visit each other’s homes and started living together. Later, they both nurtured the idea to marry the girl student but were worried about acceptance by society.
Ultimately, in 2019, the teacher decided to change her gender. The story had a happy ending finally three years later on November 4, when she married her student, who is now in college.
Meera Kuntal (29) now known as Aarav Kuntal and his/her former student Kalpana (21) are a legally wedded couple enjoying marital bliss.
“I have five daughters and my youngest, who was selected as a physical trainer in a government school in 2016, lived as a boy since childhood. Ever since he started speaking, he was a boy. behaved like a boy and in our family, many considered him like a boy. She met Kalpana who was good at sports and started meeting each other. When both decided to get married in 2019, they wondered whether society would approve of their marriage. We then decided to undergo various medical procedures and change her gender. This has been accepted by Kalpana and her family also. I am also happy with this marriage” Meera’s father Berry Singh said.
Kuntal said, “Kalpana was very good at sports and ever since I met her in 2018, we have gotten along very well. Now we are married and I don’t want to talk much about it.”
After the wedding on November 4, a large number of villagers blessed the couple.
