In the emerging wake of the new covid variant – Omicron – the Prime Minister of the UK has also warned the citizens to not take it lightly and take necessary precautionary measures.
On December 12, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson said that at least one person has died of the new covid variant Omicron in the UK.
He also said that the new variant was resulting in hospital admissions and the best thing people could do was to get their booster jab.
He said that people should set aside the idea that this was a milder variant and take utmost precaution.
During his visit near Paddington, west London, Johnson said ” I think the idea that this is somehow a milder version of the virus, I think that’s something we need to set on one side and just recognise the sheer pace at which it accelerates through the population.”
While the Health Secretary Sajid Javid on Monday said that 10 people were hospitalised in England with Omicron variant.
