Kashmir Zone Police on Monday said that an encounter started in Nowpora-Kherpora village of Trubji area, Kulgam district, where the security forces killed two militants. The police had launched a search operation on the basis of a tip-off they had received. The police said that the militants, who have not yet been identified, open fired during the operation and thus were killed in exchange fire.
Furthermore, the Border Security Force (BSF) said that they noticed suspicious movement across the fence in the general area of Baquarpur Border Outpost in Jammu’s RS Pora area around midnight. They spotted an alleged intruder, who was asked to stop but continued his movement. As a result, the intruder was shot at and died on the spot. The BSF said that the intruder had come from Pakistan with the intent to crossover.
Since the beginning of 2022, the security forces have taken up more than 70 operations, in which at least 120 militants have been killed across Kashmir Valley. This includes 33 foreigners, the majority of which have been from Pakistan.
