Bank of Baroda has partnered with Reliance Jio to launch ‘bob World Lite’, a mobile banking solution tailored specifically for feature phone users, marking a significant push toward digital inclusion in India.
Designed for devices like the JioPhone Prima 4G, the app aims to bring full-scale banking services to millions who are still outside the smartphone ecosystem. Unlike conventional apps, bob World Lite is built with a lightweight, low-bandwidth architecture and keypad-based navigation, making it accessible for users in semi-urban and rural areas.
The app offers essential banking features including UPI-enabled payments, money transfers, bill payments, and mobile recharges. It also allows users from any bank to onboard seamlessly, expanding its reach beyond existing Bank of Baroda customers.
As part of the partnership, bob World Lite will come pre-installed on JioPhone Prima 4G devices and will also be available for download via the JioStore, ensuring easy access for both new and existing users.
The collaboration combines Jio’s extensive digital reach with Bank of Baroda’s nationwide banking network, aiming to bridge the digital divide and bring secure, everyday banking to feature phone users at scale.
