Gujarat is often in the top 10 categories in various fields, sometimes for the right reasons and sometimes for the wrong reasons. Well, this time around, according to the Economic Survey (2024–25), Ahmedabad has emerged as one of the top 10 places in the country by GDP per capita.
According to reports Ahmedabad with – Rs 6.54 lakh is among the top 10 cities and districts in the country going by the GDP per capita.
The other districts and cities are Rangareddy district in Telangana, Gurugram, Bengaluru Urban, Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida, UP), Solan (Himachal Pradesh), North & South Goa, Sikkim (Gangtok, Namchi, Mangan & Gyalshing), Dakshina Kannada (Mangalore), Karnataka and Mumbai.
Rangareddy district has topped the list. India’s new rich district has a GDP per capita of approximately ₹11.46 lakh, as per the survey.
Ahmedabad has a GDP per capita of Rs 6.54 lakh and Mumbai has a GDP per capita of Rs 6.57 lakh.
Ahmedabad is India’s first UNESCO World Heritage City. The city offers travellers an insight into Mughal mosques and modern art galleries. It is travellers’ delight for the Sabarmati Ashram, set up by Mahatma Gandhi, and Riverfront among several other places.
