AI Chatbot Enhances Maha Kumbh 2025 Experience

| Updated: January 27, 2025 13:49

Technology has intertwined with faith at Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj, where an advanced version of an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot is now assisting millions of pilgrims with detailed information about parking, food courts, and hospitals within a one km radius.

This updated chatbot offers a comprehensive mapping system of the Maha Kumbh and provides specific sector-wise details alongside Google Map links, allowing devotees to navigate the sprawling event efficiently.

With its user-friendly interface, the chatbot provides real-time details on parking, transport, banking services, public water ATMs, and other essential amenities, ensuring faster access to information.

Through a simple QR code scan, devotees can instantly receive details about key locations directly on their mobile devices. The government confirmed that users could download real-time PDFs customised to their preferences, detailing toilets, lost and found centres, exhibitions, and other prominent sites.

“Millions of devotees have already utilised this AI chatbot,” said the government, highlighting how the integration of technology has enhanced convenience and organisation at the world’s largest religious gathering.

‘Bhashini for Further Assistance’

Additionally, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has introduced its AI-powered language translation tool, Bhashini, at the Maha Kumbh to enhance accessibility.

Supporting 11 languages, Bhashini aids communication through its ‘Digital Lost & Found Solution,’ where attendees can register lost or found items using voice commands in their native languages.

The platform also offers real-time text and voice translations, enabling seamless communication for visitors navigating the mega event. Multilingual chatbot assistance and kiosk navigation further enhance the experience for devotees.

The Uttar Pradesh Police Department has collaborated with the Bhashini App to ensure that police officers are trained to use its Converse feature. This tool enables officers to understand and address grievances from distressed devotees facing language barriers. Devotees can also use the app to translate guidelines into local languages, fostering smooth interactions with event authorities.
