‘Aur Lado Aapas Mein’: Mocks Abdullah Over AAP-Congress Delhi Setback

| Updated: February 8, 2025 19:12

Ahead of the BJP win in the Delhi Assembly Elections, Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister Of Jammu and Kashmir, made a subtle dig at the opposition INDIA bloc, Congress and Aam Adami Party(AAP) mocking their impending defeat.

Abdullah, also a senior leader of the National Conference, which is also part of the INDIA alliance, took it on social media platform as counting trends showed a massive defeat for both the ruling AAP and Congress in Delhi.

Sharing a well-known meme, he posted on X, “Jee bhar kar lado. Samaapt kardo ek dusre ko!”(Fight to your heart’s content. Annihilate each other).

He also captioned the post stating, “Aur lado aapas mein!!!”(Fight amongst yourselves some more, why don’t you?).

The comments were made amid increasing friction within the INDIA alliance, with Abdullah openly criticizing the coalition’s internal dynamics and the lack of unity among its member parties following the Lok Sabha elections.

He had earlier questioned the alliance’s long-term goals, suggesting it should be dissolved if it was only meant for the parliamentary elections.

His pointed remarks were triggered by Congress and AAP’s decision to contest the Delhi elections independently, despite being national allies.

Followed by questioning the very existence of the INDIA bloc, Abdullah’s mocking of Congress and AAP now highlights the growing rifts within the coalition. Moreover, it hints at his mounting frustration with parties putting self-interest ahead of opposition unity.

The lack of cohesion among the opposition is being viewed as a key factor in the BJP’s strong lead in Delhi, with early trends indicating that the party is poised to unseat AAP and reclaim power after 27 years.
