On the occasion of World AIDS Day, a blood storage cold room and blood testing machine were inaugurated at Sawai Mansingh Hospital’s Blood Bank on Thursday. Dr. Amit Sharma, head of the hospital’s IHTM department, stated that the blood storage cold room was established in collaboration with the Damodar Lal Narayani Devi Khatoria Charitable Trust Jaipur. This will increase blood storage capacity threefold. A machine with state-of-the-art technology can also be launched. As a result, blood will be available to the patient quickly, and any infection hidden in the blood will be investigated as soon as possible.
A voluntary blood donation camp, red ribbon quiz and poster exhibition programme related to AIDS awareness were held in the auditorium of Jaipur Medical Association. National Health Mission Director Dr Sudhir Sharma, SMS Medical College Principal Dr Rajiv Bagarhatta, SMS Hospital Superintendent Dr Achal Sharma, Bhamashah Ghanshyam Das Khatoria also addressed the programme.
