Fake Aadhar document racket busted in Ahmedabad: Youth suspected of duping 110 people

The police have cracked down on a gang that was making fake Aadhaar cards, voter cards and birth-death certificates for people in Juhapura area of Ahmedabad for Rs. 200 to 2,000. A cyber crime team arrested a youth who was doing computer repairing – software work in Juhapura and found evidence of making fake documents for 29 people from his computer. The police suspect that he may have made fake documents for 110 people from Juhapura-Fatewadi. They seized two Aadhaar cards, 16 voter cards from him.

What happened

The gang was making fake documents like Aadhaar card, voter card, birth-death certificate for Rs. 200 to 2,000 for the people of Juhapura-Fatewadi area. The cyber crime team caught a youth who lived and worked in Juhapura as a computer repairer – software developer. He had evidence of making fake documents for 29 people in his computer. But the police started an investigation on suspicion that the youth had made fake documents for 110 people.

The youth lived on Juhapura Fatewadi Canal RCC Road in Saiyadnagar. He used to help local people fill up forms for loans, bank accounts and government schemes. He also gave some of them fake Aadhaar card, voter card and birth-death certificate, which the cyber crime came to know.

Based on that, the cyber crime’s PI J.H. Vaghela raided him. During the raid, they found fake Aadhaar card, voter card and birth-death certificate in his computer and evidence of making 29 documents. Out of which 2 Aadhaar cards, 16 voter cards and 11 birth-death certificates of Ahmedabad and Vadodara Municipal Corporation were there. Based on that, the police arrested Ejazkhan Pathan.

The birth certificate had blue paper instead of red

The Ahmedabad Mun. Corp. which gives birth certificate, uses red colored paper for it. While Ejazkhan printed the birth certificate on blue colored paper and gave it. If any of these certificates were taken to the government office, they would be easily detected as fake. The police seized a laptop, mobile, computer, printer worth Rs. 52,150 from the youth’s office.

The police found out while questioning Ejazkhan Pathan that he used to make fake documents from 27 online websites. Not only that, Ejazkhan Pathan was also in touch with some YouTubers and helped them make fake documents. So the police started investigating them too.

According to the police, Ejazkhan had been making fake documents for 7 months. In which he had made 110 documents. The police also started an investigation to find out whether these documents were used to make PAN card – passport or not. For that, they will send the list of fake documents to the passport office and PAN card office. They are also investigating some people who were given PAN cards by him.

The cyber crime searched the accused’s office and found 30 duplicate light bills from there. The people who needed fake documents for loans, contacted the accused and got fake documents with any name and address from him.
