Gujarat: BJP Supporter Dalit Student Alleges Professor Demanded Alcohol And Hurled Caste Slur, Prof Denies

A student of the M S University’s Faculty of Technology has alleged that an assistant professor demanded a good brand of Scotch whisky worth two to three thousand rupees in exchange for a recommendation letter. The student, Bharat Rajvanshi, has written a letter to the VC and the syndicate member demanding an inquiry. He has also filed a complaint at the Raopura police station adding that he was subjected to casteist remarks.

As per the complaint, Prof.Nikul Patel asked for a good branch of scotch when Bharat Rajvanshi approached him for a recommendation letter he needed to study abroad and get a job with a good company. The incident pertains to the mechanical department of the university.

The student also alleges that Nikul Patel made derogatory remarks about his caste. The student has sought strict action against him as per university law.A committee is formed to investigate the whole matter after this issue was discussed in the syndicate.

In a letter to VC, the student alleged that the professor claimed to be a congress worker and talks to I talk to Rahul Gandhi regularly on phone every day. The complainant said the professor uttered humiliating words to him as he is a BJP supporter..

Denying the allegations vehemently, the professor in the response has said that there is a conspiracy behind this incident. He said he does not even drink alcohol. The professor said he has served the institution since 20 years. He also said that an impartial inquiry should be carried out to know the truth.
