Gujarat Roads To Undergo Makeover With ₹3,760 Crore Approved Project

Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the enhancement of 34 national highways for ₹3,760.64 crores. On Wednesday, Roads and Housing Minister Purnesh Modi announced the approval.

As per the reports, government has split the budget into two portions. One is ₹2,511.10 crores for the construction of roads and the other ₹1,249.54 crores for bridges and other pre-construction activities. Purnesh Modi said, “The department shall also construct ROBs/RUBs over railway crossings.”

Moreover, they will develop a 12.8 kilometres long road from Narol Junction to Ujala Junction for ₹350 crores. In addition, the government will convert the six-lane from Narol Junction to Vishala Junction into an eight-lane road.

Furthermore, they plan to convert the four-lane road between Vishala Junction and Ujala Junction into a six-lane. It shall also have an elevated corridor structure. The government has also put ₹110 crores aside for the construction of a 4 kilometres long flyover with three elevations between the ISKCON flyover and the Sanand Flyover on Sarkhej Gandhinagar Highway.

Moreover, Mahuva andAmreli will connect via a 50.48-kilometre long and 10-meter wide road with two railway overbridges and other concrete bridges. Another highway with similar dimensions will connect Badhada to Amreli. However, the cost of both is ₹257 crores and ₹451.50 crores. The route on Badhada to Amreli shall also have an Amreli bypass for people travelling to Bagasara.

Purnesh Modi also added that they plan to spend ₹450 crores on a 10-meter wide road on Bhiloda-Shamlaji National Highway 168-G. Similarly, the department shall expand the Ahwa-Saputara National Highway-953 by 10 meters. Jamnagar-Kalwad National Highway-927-D will have four lanes for ₹250 crores. However, it will include land acquisition work and the forest clearance process.

According to the State Minister, the Government of India has appointed a DPR consultant for the project, and a detailed survey is in progress.
