The India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy to very heavy rains in many parts of Gujarat until July 16, and in the past few days, there have been flood-like situations in several regions including Rajkot, Navsari, Ahmedabad, and so on. On Tuesday evening, Anand witnessed torrential rains, which led to the overflowing of rivers, and leakage of dams. Many areas including Vidyanagar, Mogri, Napad, Navali, Karamsad, and Valasan suffered waterlogging and flooding. The roads, apartments, societies, and different areas were submerged in knee-deep waters. Daily life and traffic were disrupted.

Besides this, in Sarol village, a lake burst and the water flooded the entire village, especially affecting the low-lying areas. A school got submerged in water, which had a strong flow. Students were trapped and struggled to not get washed away by the current. Fortunately, the locals were able to get all the students to safety.

Heavy rains along with thunderstorms lashed the Umreth Panth, causing waterlogging in Kharwawadi, Bhagwan Vaga, Odd Bazaar, and other areas of the town. Umreth district received 1.5 inches of rain in an hour. Apart from this, rains also fell in rural areas including Bhatpura, Lingada, and Thamana. Heavy rains again lashed the rural areas of Borsad taluka and the market area was also flooded.
