India vs England: Rohit Sharma To Lead In ODIs And T20Is, Arshdeep Singh Gets Maiden ODI Call-up

The Team India squads for the white-ball series against England, which will be played following the postponed fifth Test, were released by the BCCI on Thursday. From July 7 to July 17, India and England will play three T20Is and then the same number of ODIs. Rohit Sharma, the captain, will return for the white-ball matches after being disqualified from the fifth Test that was rescheduled, according to a BCCI release. 

 Arshdeep Singh, a promising bowler, was also called up for his maiden ODI. Arshdeep was a member of India’s T20I squad for the two games against Ireland, although he was not selected for either game in the playing XI. While Shikhar Dhawan and Hardik Pandya are also back in ODI’s. The Man of the Series against the recent two-match series against Ireland, Deepak Hooda is also in the T20I squad against England after his exceptional performance with the bat.

During India’s tour game against Leicestershire, Rohit Sharma tested positive for COVID-19. The BCCI had earlier announced that pacer Jasprit Bumrah will lead Team India in the rescheduled fifth Test, with Rishabh Pant also being named as vice-captain.

“The All-India Senior Selection Committee has selected the squads for the three-match T20I and ODI series against England, which will be played following the fifth Test,” the BCCI said in a statement on Thursday.
