In a historic move, the Indian Army on Friday released its first-ever visual proof of a Pakistani military post being obliterated in precision Indian strikes along the Line of Control (LoC), signalling a dramatic escalation in hostilities between the two nuclear-armed nations.
The devastating cross-border operations come in the wake of India’s merciless retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror strikes that claimed 26 Indian lives. India responded with sheer force, eliminating nine terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). Enraged and cornered, Pakistan vowed to give a “befitting reply”—only to be met with even greater Indian firepower.
The Pakistani military had attempted to target 15 cities—Awantipura, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Adampur, Bathinda, Chandigarh, Nal, Phalodi, Uttarlai, and Bhuj—with a mix of missiles and drones.
The Indian Army crushed Pakistan’s attempted strikes on military installations in Jammu, Pathankot, Udhampur, and several other key locations on Thursday night. The Pakistani offensive, which included drones and missiles, was swiftly and decisively neutralised.
“The Indian Army remains committed to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation. All nefarious designs will be responded with force,” it said in a post on X.
India’s counteroffensive wasn’t limited to defensive measures. In a daring show of strength, Indian forces launched kamikaze drones deep into enemy territory, successfully destroying a Pakistani air defence system in Lahore.
The Army neutralised over 50 swarm drones by Pakistan during a counter-drone operation conducted by the air defence units in the areas of Udhampur, Samba, Jammu, Akhnoor, Nagrota (all in Jammu and Kashmir) and Pathankot (Punjab), according to reports.
The Army also confirmed it had repelled a wave of drone and missile attacks by Pakistani troops during the night, specifically under its Operation Sindoor, asserting its dominance and preparation for any future military conflict.
A video from the Nagrota sector captured the annihilation of hostile drones by India’s air defence systems. L-70 guns, Zu-23mm, Schilka systems, and advanced counter-UAS equipment were deployed extensively—demonstrating India’s ironclad air defence.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh made India’s resolve unequivocally clear: the nation will not bow to provocation, and its sovereignty is non-negotiable.
“However, if anyone tries to take advantage of this restraint, they will face quality action. We are fully prepared for such responsible responses in the future as well,” he said.
India may prefer peace—but it is not afraid of war. Singh said India has always played the role of a responsible nation, exercising great restraint, and it believes in resolving issues through dialogue.
No limit will become an obstacle to protecting India’s sovereignty and the nation is fully prepared for such responses, Singh declared with resolute finality.
