Indian-Origin Man Stabs 9-Year-Old Son To Death In US

| Updated: January 9, 2023 17:02

A 39-year-old man of Indian descent has been accused of killing his 9-year-old son by stabbing him in the US state of Texas.

The McKinney police tweeted that Subramanian Ponnazhakan was arrested on Sunday and charged with stabbing his kid on January 6. His bail was set at USD one million.

According to the police, he was hospitalised for self-inflicted injuries. When police responded to a call from a neighbour reporting that a lady had found her child bleeding and unconscious at her home last week, they found the child.

Following a break-in, authorities discovered her husband using a knife to kill himself while the child was discovered in the garage with multiple stab wounds. The child was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital.

The police statement said, “We continue to keep the child’s mother and their entire family in our thoughts and prayers during this unspeakably difficult time.” Dinesh Hooda, a member of the India Association of North Texas, claimed that the close-knit neighbourhood was shattered.

“People are still praying for the family,” he said. “If you are in stress, if you are not able to handle the situation, reach out to friends for help.”
