IPL Franchises Spend Over ₹52 Crore on Three Australian Players

The 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction was held in Dubai. The players of the 2023 World Cup champion Australian team were in high demand, with Mitchell Starc becoming the most expensive player in IPL history.

Kolkata Knight Riders acquired Starc for ₹24.75 crore, while Sunrisers Hyderabad bought Pat Cummins for ₹20.50 crore. Travis Head was also bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for ₹6.80 crore.

There was a lot of competition between Gujarat Titans and Kolkata Knight Riders to acquire Starc. In the end, Kolkata won the bid with a bid of ₹24.75 crore.

Overall, the three Australian players were acquired by IPL franchises for a total of ₹52.05 crore. Starc was the most expensive, followed by Cummins and Head.
