192 metric tonnes of cow dung is being exported to Kuwait, a first for India in its history, stated Atul Gupta, the president of the Organic Farmer Producer Association of India.
The untiring efforts made by our team for the protection of cows have paid off, he said adding “A Jaipur-based company Sunrise Agriland and Development Research Pvt Ltd has got this order.”
Prasant Chaturvedi, director of the firm, says that this is probably the first time the dung of indigenous cows in India has been imported into the Muslim-majority country of Kuwait. In Shripinjrapol Gaushala, Tonk Road, Jaipur, cow dung is being packed into containers under the supervision of the Customs Department. He informed further that it will be dispatched from Kanakapura railway station on June 15 as its first consignment.
The export of animal products from India in 2020-21 was valued at Rs 27,155.56 crore, according to Atul Gupta. Additionally, the demand for organic manure continues to rise. After extensive research on indigenous cow dung, many countries have discovered that it can not only increase crop production, but also relieve humans of many serious ailments. Due to this, many countries have started importing cow dung and organic manure from India.
Gupta explained the Kuwaiti agricultural scientists have found that using cow dung powder has increased the size of the dates as well as yield, after extensive research. Hence, Kuwait-based company Lamor ordered the importation of 192 metric tons of cow dung from the Jaipur firm.
