Son of renowned poet Jhaverchand Meghani, Mahendrabhai Meghani passed away on Wednesday. He turned 100 on June 20 of this year.
Founder of LokMilap trust in Bhavnagar and a bookshop for economical books, he was known to organize book fairs across the country and outside India.
He was of the opinion that Bullet brings a very short revolution, and revolution through ballot is not greatly successful. Instead he aspired to bring revolution through books.
Mahendrabhai was born in Bombay and had studied in Bhavnagar, Botad and Mumbai. He was a student in the LD Arts College in 1942, but he left studies midway. He went to study journalism at Columbia University in New York in 1948.
