A tragic incident surfaced yesterday in Banaskantha district, where a man allegedly killed his minor daughters and committed suicide himself. The man from Sherau village is believed to have thrown his daughters, aged 3 and 5, into the well before jumping in himself. The villagers recovered the bodies and called the police. Tharad police are now investigating the matter.
Before the incident, the man, identified as Vikram Darji, took a selfie with his daughters and shared it on a local WhatsApp group. A bottle of poison is also visible in the photo. The police believe that Darji gave poison to his daughters before throwing them in the well. He also took the poison and then jumped to his death.
The incident happened last evening, and bodies were fished out later in the night. Darji’s wife was at home at the time of the incident. The reason for Darji’s extreme step is not known yet.
