Maradona’s Death: Trial Confirmed For Eight Medical Professionals

| Updated: April 19, 2023 21:11

Argentina’s football legend Diego Maradona’s death has led to the confirmation of a trial of eight medical professionals allegedly involved in his medical care.

As per a report by ESPN, the San Isidro Board of Appeals confirmed that neurosurgeon Leopoldo Luque, psychiatrist Agustina Cosachov, and six other health workers will be tried for their alleged role in Maradona’s death.

Maradona passed away in November 2020 at the age of 60, after battling health issues and undergoing emergency surgery for a subdural hematoma. His death was caused by a cardiac arrest, according to the reports from Argentina.

Maradona is regarded as one of the greatest soccer players of all time, having led Argentina to victory in the 1986 World Cup with a series of sublime individual performances. He was known for his deceptive quickness and visionary passing abilities, which earned him the nickname “The God” in his native country. His iconic number 10 shirt was also known as “El Diez.”
