New York, New Jersey Issue Special Resolutions In Honour Of Mann Ki Baat’s 100TH Episode

| Updated: April 30, 2023 14:53

In honour of the 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat, the monthly radio programme hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state of New York and New Jersey have issued special resolutions, highlighting how the “vital” broadcast has evolved into a powerful tool for communication that “promotes good governance and deepens democracy.”

The state of New York’s legislative resolutions, which were approved by the Senate and assembly on April 26, 2023, congratulate Mann Ki Baat on the occasion of its 100th edition on April 30.

Indian-American senator Kevin Thomas introduced the resolution in the Senate, and Indian-American assemblywoman Jenifer Rajkumar introduced the resolution in the assembly. Raj Mukherji, an assemblyman, has introduced the resolution to the New Jersey general assembly.

Edison Mayor Sam Joshi also presented a resolution at the event. The resolutions were delivered to S Jaishankar, the Minister of External Affairs, during a special community gathering early on Sunday in Somerset, where the radio programme’s 100th episode was broadcast.

For members of the Indian-American and diaspora community in New Jersey, a special event was organised to broadcast the 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat at 1:30 am on Sunday.

The monthly programme debuted on October 3, 2014, and it is now broadcast on the entire All India Radio and Doordarshan network every last Sunday at 11 am.

Worldwide, the programme has attracted a sizable following. Hundreds of people from the diaspora community attended the community event that Jaishankar addressed, while he was on an official visit to Guyana, Panama, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic.
