Newlywed Man Found Dead In Kurnool Canal: India’s 2025 Wave Of Love, Betrayal, And Murders Unveiled

| Updated: June 23, 2025 17:52

Weeks after the harrowing murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi during his honeymoon, a similarly chilling tragedy has unfolded in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district. Tejeswar, a 32-year-old private land surveyor and dance teacher, was found dead in a canal—his body discovered a full month after his wedding. The newlywed groom vanished mysteriously on June 17, barely a month after his marriage to Ishwarya on May 18.

According to reports, Tejeswar’s family has levelled grave accusations against his wife, Ishwarya, alleging that she was embroiled in an extramarital affair and orchestrated his brutal murder. Alongside Ishwarya, her mother Sujatha, a bank employee, has also been detained and is currently under police interrogation. A senior police official confirmed that the investigation is underway but declined to either confirm or dismiss the allegations made by Tejeswar’s family.

The family has claimed that Ishwarya maintained a secret relationship with a bank employee—reportedly her mother Sujatha’s colleague—even as she was involved with Tejeswar. Originally, the wedding was slated for February but was postponed after Ishwarya went missing. She later reappeared, declared her love for Tejeswar, and the couple married soon after, reports added. Despite repeated warnings from his family against marrying Ishwarya, Tejeswar was resolute, a decision now shrouded in tragic consequences.

This grim episode echoes the widespread outrage that followed the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi. Raja had married Sonam on May 11 and embarked on a honeymoon trip to Meghalaya a week later. The couple disappeared on May 23, only for Raja’s mutilated body to be found in a remote gorge on June 2. The ensuing investigation revealed a horrifying conspiracy: Sonam allegedly colluded with her lover to murder Raja. She surrendered to the police on June 8, and other accused were apprehended in connection with the crime.

Adding to this dark trend, India has witnessed a spate of love-related murders in just the past two weeks.

In this year alone, India has been rattled by a series of shocking crimes that reveal a deadly undercurrent beneath seemingly ordinary relationships. From the chilling murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi during his honeymoon in Meghalaya to a brutal honour killing in Meerut, these cases expose how love, jealousy, and betrayal often escalate into fatal violence. Other incidents include a gruesome assault over a property dispute in Thane and a gruesome love triangle murder in Tripura, underscoring the volatile mix of passion and rage fuelling a wave of brutal crimes nationwide. Each story lays bare the dark extremes of human emotions, shattering illusions of romance and trust.

Recent reports delve into a disturbing trend of young women from small towns in India being accused of murdering their husbands. These women, once brides, girlfriends, or influencers, have now become infamous figures, sparking national outrage and misogynistic reactions. The cases highlight deep-seated societal expectations, gender-based power dynamics, and the suppression that can lead to extreme acts.
